西尾 麻衣子
福岡県出身。東京芸術大学ピアノ科卒業後、渡米。サンフランシスコで音楽家としての領域を広げるべくフルートを勉強する。サンフランシスコ州立大学大学院でフルートをリンダ・ルーカス氏 (サンフランシスコ・シンフォニー) に師事。在学中にピアノ伴奏、室内楽に目覚め、複数の教授からの勧めもありピアノに転向。2010年アヴァロス賞を受賞し修士課程修了。同年よりニューヨークのジュリアード音楽院コラボレーティブ ピアノ科修士課程にて奨学金を受け室内楽、伴奏の分野においてジョナサン・フェルドマン、マルゴ・ギャレット両氏の元で更なる研鑽を積む。2012年修了。
在学中よりアレクサンダー弦楽四重奏のメンバー、サンフランシスコ・オペラ オーケストラのメンバー、チャールズ・キャッスルマン (ヴァイオリニスト) などと共演。
2012年夏、伝統のあるアスペン音楽祭(米国・コロラド州)にて公式伴奏ピアニストを務める。
ニューヨークを拠点に室内楽、伴奏ピアニストとして活躍し、ジュリアード音楽院にてスタッフピアニスト(伴奏要員)を務める。
９年に渡る米国滞在を終え、2013年秋より福岡を拠点に活動を開始する。九州交響楽団のメンバーなどと共演。
現在、中村学園大学・短期大学部非常勤講師。
Maiko Nishio
Japanese pianist Maiko Nishio has performed as a sonata partner to members of both the Alexander String Quartet and the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. Ms. Nishio has appeared in concerts at The Juilliard School (NYC), WMP Recital Hall (NYC) and the Japanese Consulate in NY. She has served on the piano staff at the Juilliard School and Aspen Music Festival and School (Aspen, CO). She holds a Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano from The Juilliard School where she studied with Jonathan Feldman and Margo Garrett. She holds a second Master of Music degree in chamber music from San Francisco State University where she received the Michael Segrove Avalos Award. Ms. Nishio also studied flute performance with Linda Lukas (San Francisco Symphony) while attending San Francisco State University. Her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance came from Tokyo University of the Arts.
Ms. Nishio currently lives in Fukuoka, Japan.
